Membership
Policy
Membership in the Washington Chapter is open to all persons and
organizations interested in wildlife resources. Membership in the National (International)
organization of The Wildlife Society is not required. You can download a
Chapter membership form
here (Adobe Acrobat format). If you don't have Adobe's free
Acrobat Reader you can
download a copy from their website.
Chapter members are encouraged,
but not required, to join the National organization. For information about
membership in the National visit their website at
www.wildlife.org.
Chapter membership dues are good for 1 calendar year (January through December)
regardless of when they are received. Members who are current on
their dues will receive all the Chapter's newsletters and Annual
Meeting/ Workshop Announcements for the calendar year.
Additionally, members who have paid the current year's dues
will receive the first newsletter of the following year (the Winter
Newsletter which is generally mailed out in late January or early
February). This will constitute the 'grace period'.
If membership dues are not received after the 1st newsletter of
the year has been sent and before the mailing of the 2nd newsletter
(Spring Newsletter), those members who have not paid will be removed
from the membership list.
Membership will be reinstated at any time during the calendar year
upon receipt of annual dues.
Membership dues are used to cover the costs of producing and mailing
the newsletters and the Annual Meeting Announcement and Call for
Papers, and maintaining the Chapter's web-site. Funds in excess
of these expenses, along with proceeds from meetings and workshops,
are used to fund scholarships, grants, and other activities supported
by the Chapter.
